Behind the Design: McCoy Artwork & Photography Brand Launch!

Hi friends!

This post has been a loooooong time coming, and I couldn’t be more excited! As you may have noticed if you have been following along, McCoy Artwork & Photography has a WHOLE NEW LOOK! I wanted to take the time to share with my amazing encouragers the journey of how my rebrand and website redesign came to be…so here goes!

After beginning a family and watching my boys grow up in the blink of an eye, I realized how a love for preserving my own memories could easily be translated into serving others. I quickly found life in helping others relive and share their own precious moments with those they love! So, while working as a full time high school art teacher and raising my own family, I have been hustling on the side to create a blossoming business that allows me to provide evidence to my clients of the value and beauty in themselves and in their relationships- and I LOVE IT!

After a number of workshops and attending the Creative at Heart conference last spring, I knew that I needed a better online presence, and a true representation of the heart that I have for my clients, and the kind of business that I wanted to use to serve others. Over the past year and a half, I have worked hard to nurture my small business into something that had started to outgrow the (ahem…pitiful) website that I had been filling to the brim. I had been dreaming about a complete re-brand and website overall for quite some time, and this conference was the kick-start that I needed to begin the process- and let me tell you, this whole process has been a true labor of love (and sweat and tears)!

Working with the incredibly kind, selfless, hysterical, and talented team of Britt and Kelsey over at Launch Your Daydream has been exactly that! From the very beginning, I felt a connection with these two ladies that permitted me to be vulnerable and honest with them, and in between the smiles and tears, starting over on a new platform, long hours, and countless memes and hysterical gif’s later- I knew that my brand and website were in great hands!

(Just look at them, they are adorable!!)

I cannot tell you how thankful I am to a dear friend of mine for recommending that I contact this dynamic duo, because while the process felt like a massive project that was incredibly daunting and even overwhelming at times, Britt and Kelsey are incredible cheerleaders that encouraged me every step of the way, while making the whole experience and brand feel like a true extension of myself and my heart. In the end, having a custom website that lives and breathes my vision for my business is a dream come true, and I am so excited to finally be able to share it all with you!

This new brand and website feels like a clearer, more concise, and more authentic representation of the heart that I have for people, and is a true representation of the McCoy Artwork & Photography experience!

This image above was the original mood board that I worked with Kelsey to create, and below is the final brand design and accompanying details (business card, custom note card, cover photo and more)! I love to look back and see how the design unfolded, and how unified it all feels!

Now I want to take a minute to share a few behind the scene details that are new to the site, and are a few of my favorite new features! First, the all new Praise & Press page features some unbelievable client testimonials that I was just plain blown away by. I adore that this page speaks to the heart of the relationships formed with my clients and the importance that I place on client experience, and I am beyond humbled every time I read each and every kind word! (thank you again, friends!) I also love the hover-over effect that reveals the testimonials on the page!

Each branch of McCoy Artwork & Photography now has its own logo and a dedicated experience page, and I am in love with the way that they all turned out! I knew going into the process that I wanted a custom experience for each tier of my business, and I am so happy with how each of these pages flows and walks prospective clients through the experience of working with me.

The new galleries are filled to the brim with beautifully updated images! I just love how they fill the screen and embody the love and meaning of authentic relationships, and demonstrate the values that I hold dear to my heart!
Each tier of the experience now has its own dedicated contact form as well! I knew I wanted to be able to customize the way that my visitors contacted me, and it is a dream to have them organized in a way that makes answering inquiries a breeze!
Throughout the site, you will find cute little bits of spot calligraphy! I knew I wanted to incorporate modern calligraphy into my new website design, so this fun side project was a great way to tie in the artwork tier of my new brand with my love for custom hand-lettering!

And there’s an all new BLOG! Ok, ok…its actually my first legitimate blog. My old site platform was not great at blog hosting, so I was always discouraged and didn’t feel inspired enough to spend time writing when I detested the overall look of the design and the way my clients valuable images were presented. Now that I have a great new home for my branded blog, you can count on seeing a lot more posts!!
And, last but not least, I am now featuring a society6 shop! While it is still limited in its offerings, I am excited to have a space to offer art prints, framed photography prints, mugs, totes, and more! Expect to see lots of updates and regular new offerings!

Thanks again for following along while I share the heart behind my rebrand! I’m ecstatic that you are here to help me celebrate all of these exciting changes! Please take some time to look around at all of the new features live on the site, and I hope you love the new look as much as I do!

XO,
